A feel good story that belies the fact that members of FOSI (and the Maine Sierra Club)knowingly, and foolishly signed off on the Joint Use Plan to develop the island, thinking somehow that they could outwit and prevent the DOT from building a port on the island. Now, these same group of folks are the designated advisers to the development of the conserved side of the island. Can you say hypocritical? By the way... the little ramp they built "for your safety" is incredibly dangerous due to the slope and no traction. Its slick now - can't imagine what it'll be like when the weather turns cold. Who's gonna carry the liability when the first person breaks their neck and sues? Hmmmm?

That FOSI "story" is actually just a press release of their own making. Thus no byline. I oughta do the same, pronto!
ReplyDeleteYou asked:
'Who's gonna carry the liability when the first person breaks their neck and sues?'
Why, look in the mirror! You see, in the easement, MCHT laid off all liability onto the state of Maine taxpayers. As a little subcontracting pimple on MCHT's behind, the Frenzy Sears Island folks are immune, too.
What a great blog, btw!
As always an excellent posting.The
